Welcome to Pocket Hisaab ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal and financial information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data when you use the Pocket Hisaab mobile application.

Pocket Hisaab is a comprehensive personal and small-business finance management app. All your financial data is stored locally on your device, ensuring maximum privacy and security.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Financial Data

Local Storage Only: All financial data you create using Pocket Hisaab is stored exclusively on your device. This includes:

• Expense and income transactions
• Budget information
• Wallet/account balances
• Lend/borrow ledger entries
• Expense splitting groups and settlements
• Categories, tags, and payment methods
• Receipts and invoice attachments
• User preferences and settings

We do NOT upload, transmit, or store any of your financial data on our servers. All data remains on your device and is never shared with us or any third parties.

2.2 Advertising Data

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements in the app. Google AdMob may collect certain information for advertising purposes, including:

• Device identifiers (such as Advertising ID)
• General location data (country/region level, not precise location)
• App usage data for ad personalization

This data collection is handled by Google AdMob according to their privacy policy. You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings.

2.3 Optional Cloud Sync Data

Cloud Sync is Optional: Pocket Hisaab now offers optional cloud sync functionality. If you choose to create an account and enable cloud sync:

• We collect your email address and username (for account creation)
• We store your encrypted financial data on our secure servers
• Your data is encrypted and can only be accessed by you with your password
• You can delete your account and all synced data at any time
• Cloud sync is completely optional - the app works perfectly without it

If you do NOT create an account: All data remains local only, and we collect nothing beyond Google AdMob advertising data.

2.4 No Other Data Collection

We do NOT collect:

• Financial account numbers or banking details
• Contact lists or other device data
• Any data beyond what is necessary for Google AdMob advertising and optional cloud sync

3. Google AdMob

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements in our app. AdMob is Google's mobile advertising platform that helps us provide the app for free.

What AdMob Collects:

• Advertising ID (resettable device identifier)
• General location (country/region, not precise GPS coordinates)
• App usage data for ad relevance
• Device information (model, OS version)

Your Control: You can opt out of personalized advertising by:

• Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Reset advertising ID / Opt out of Ads Personalization
• iOS: Settings → Privacy → Apple Advertising → Limit Ad Tracking
• Visiting Google Ads Settings

4. How We Use Your Information

4.1 Local Data (No Account)

If you use the app without creating an account, your financial data is:

• Stored only on your device
• Never transmitted to our servers
• Never shared with third parties
• Completely under your control

4.2 Cloud Sync Data (With Account)

If you create an account and enable cloud sync, we use your data to:

• Store your encrypted financial data on secure servers
• Sync your data across your devices
• Provide backup and restore functionality
• Enable access to your data from multiple devices

We do NOT: sell, share, or use your financial data for any purpose other than providing the sync service you requested.

The only other data usage is through Google AdMob for advertising purposes, as described above.

5. Data Security

We take data security seriously:

• Local Storage: All your financial data is stored securely on your device using the device's secure storage mechanisms
• Encrypted Cloud Storage: If you use cloud sync, all data is encrypted before transmission and storage
• Secure Servers: Cloud data is stored on secure, encrypted servers with industry-standard security measures
• Password Protection: Your account is protected with a secure password that is hashed and never stored in plain text
• No Account Required: Cloud sync is optional - you can use the app completely offline without any account
• App Lock: Optional app lock with PIN or biometric authentication for additional security
• You Control Your Data: You can delete any data at any time, and it will be permanently removed (both locally and from cloud if synced)

6. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google AdMob: For displaying advertisements in the app
• Exchange Rate APIs: For fetching currency exchange rates (with offline caching)

These services have their own privacy policies governing how they use information. Exchange rate APIs only receive currency conversion requests and do not receive any personal or financial data.

7. Your Rights

You have complete control over your data:

• Access: All your financial data is accessible within the app
• Edit: You can modify any data at any time
• Delete: You can delete any data at any time
• Export: You can export your data in CSV or JSON format
• Uninstall: Uninstalling the app will remove all locally stored data
• Account Deletion: You can delete your account and all associated data, including all synced cloud data (see Delete Account page)
• Disable Sync: You can disable cloud sync at any time, and your data will remain local only
• Opt-out: You can opt out of personalized advertising in your device settings

8. Data Export and Backup

The app provides functionality to export your data in CSV or JSON format. This allows you to:

• Create backups of your financial data
• Transfer data to other devices (manually)
• Import data back into the app

All export/import operations are performed locally on your device. We do not have access to exported data.

9. Children's Privacy

Our app is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically.
